The Long Road Home Page 15
When I'm not working or writing, I enjoy working in the garden, canning, and seeing my backyard as a living canvas for my whimsical landscaping, and, of course, reading romance novels.

5 Cups for Triad
This is the first book that I have read by Cheyenne Meadows and I can tell you right now it will not be the last. Yowsa! Talk about hotter than a firecracker! I really really LOVED this book. It is not often that I find a book that captures my attention as much as this one did, but I simply could not put it down until I had read the very last page. It has everything you could ever want in an m/m romance, suspense, scorching hot sex, love, romance, a murder mystery, and really awful bad guys. I just cannot say enough good things about this story, I ADORED it! If you never pick up another book this month, make sure you pick up Triad by Cheyenne Meadows, it is to die for!

5 Stars and a Recommended Read for Species Interaction
Warning: you must read the first book in this series, or you will be lost. This book is not a stand alone. That being said, I read the first book (which was great) and came back and finished this one.
I loved this book. You will not be able to resist Shy's character. That girl has no filter—and she lets it all out! She kinda reminds me of Betsy Taylor (Mary Janice Davidson) meets Stephanie Plum (Janet Evanovich). She also seems to be a close personal friend of Mr. Murphy and his laws. Be ready to laugh out loud at the "good parts" of this book—and in complement, drool over hot characters and the yummy sex scenes—which are not overly explicit.
"Meat," the liger stripper PI alpha boyfriend is too much—hot, hot, hot. Of course, the only way to actually know in this world whether they are true mates is if Shy becomes pregnant. Due to the fact that her period is mentioned twice, makes me thing that we're in for a "surprise" in the future.
Five stars?!? You might be thinking… Cara hardly ever gives five stars. Well, it felt totally warranted in this case—are there issues? Yep. However, the rest of the story was so fascinating and funny; I didn't get hung up on things. I enjoyed this book for what it was, a funny sexy read.
So, here's the deal with this book: it is part of an ongoing series. Overall, there are no resolutions in this book, though lots of questions are raised: the perfect bridge for the book three! The characters are fleshed out, mysteries are spoken off, relationships are tested, and crimes committed. Don't let that deter you in any way, shape, or form. I actually got mad when I finished the book, going, "Wait, wait, wait! The End? No way! What the…? When does the next book come out?!!? How could Meadows do this to us!?!? Will Cannibal actually eat Shy's toes?" Please, please, please pick up this book—I promise you won't be disappointed, and I need more people chanting with me "MORE MEAT!"

5 Kisses for Broken Bridges
This was an explosive story. Not only the hot sex but the men, struggling to find each other amid the madness of deaths around them. They weren't good together except in the sack. Dax, the wolf, is overprotective with a pack mentality while Adin, the bear, is a loner who doesn't like to be dominated anywhere else but in bed. I liked both men. Knowing they couldn't help their masculine saber rattling, I found they were in fact so much alike that it explained why things didn't work out between them. Naturally, it's only a matter of time before Adin ends up in the killer's crosshairs.
The murder mystery is a compelling one. Ms. Meadows seems to have a firm grasp of police procedures and forensic science, and these things made the story realistic. I admit I wasn't a hundred percent sold on the killer's motives but it was in intriguing plotline, and I would have wished for some sort of emotional closure for the culprit in the end. Maybe that was just the good in me talking. Still, the plot moves swiftly, and there's a balanced mix of investigation, dialogue, action, and sex.
The writing is solid and convincing with its fast pace and expertise of chemistry, and I found this world of shifters blending unseen into the modern society quite compelling. I wonder if there will be more stories like this. I sure hope so. Recommended.

4 Hearts for Blue Blood's Trifecta
I haven't read any of the other Wind Warrior books before this. My enjoyment of this title made me go look for the backlist to this story line. The setting of the series with the secret government agency, freelance mercenaries, assassins, drug cartels, and the FBI involvement had a very action movie quality that I loved. Tempest was a surprisingly strong female character and still be able to stay sweet. The first kiss between Rogue and Ryan was freaking H.O.T. One of the best kiss scenes I've read in a long time. Ryan's discovery of his attraction for Rogue does shake the man up and he avoids Rogue. Unfortunately, his struggle with his identity and how he deals with this new side of himself takes place off page. But I was happy that Ryan didn't jump into sex with both feet so the love scenes between the two men are tame.
Overall, I really enjoyed this fast and fun story. I will be going back to the beginning to catch up. Oh, and, the assassin, Ghost, I want his story which I hope is next. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys action packed romance, strong female pilots, secret organization, and hot guys who love to compete against each other.

5 Meows for Tails: Werewolf
Timber is happy being alone. She agrees to go on a blind date a friend sets up on New Year's Eve but it doesn't go well when the werewolf announces she is his mate. The next day he keeps sending her deliveries until she caves in and meets him for dinner. He finds out his Nemesis has found her and is going to use her to get to him so he has her come live with him. She goes just to be sure her cats are protected.
I loved this book. I liked that the characters were not the average run of the mill super-hot perfect stud (though Rock is pretty hot he still doesn't tell her right up that he is in love with her just because they are mates. I liked that.) I liked that Timber was strong and strong willed and didn't cave just because she was scared. The love scene, when we finally got it was hot and sensuous without being nasty. Loved that too. All the characters were interesting and the story moved along fast paced and interestingly.
Recommendations: If you like werewolves, hot leading men, strong independent leading woman, hot but sensuous sex scenes and cats, this story is for you!

Tiger's Lily
A woman who can't turn her back on anyone who is hurt and a man who doesn't trust easily find out that love can break through any barrier. Tiger's Lily brings Lily with her gentle heart and ways together with Cale, a man who trusts very rarely and almost never a woman. I loved watching, as Lily seemed to just bedazzle Cale without even trying. I know that Cale never saw her coming until it was too late. I laughed a few times when younger brother Dillon put in his two cents. Right up until the end I wondered if Cale would be able to accept the love that Lily offered, but I should know that you just shouldn't bet against fate. I also loved the sneak peek at the rest of
the Wind Warriors and wonder just who will be the next to find their love. Tiger's Lily is a softhearted look at a love and the journey back to family with a ribbon of danger to keep you wondering.

5 Stars for As Fate Would Have It
The unbelievable chemistry of these two characters, is what makes As Fate Would Have It, the sweltering and fantastic read that it is. Rye is a detective that once worked as an actor. He's not just any actor though, he's a retired porn star, with a whole heck of a lot more experience then the virgin that is Brie. Rye will rock your socks off with his sexy sweet talking and his domineering ways. He's got a hidden sensitive side as well, creating a character that will leave you dying for more with every page you read. Brie is a good girl nurse, with nothing but an uppity spirit flowing through her. She also happens to be most hilarious heroine I have read about in a while. She's determined and strong-willed, never wanting to give up on anything in life. I admire her willingness to take risks in order to help people she knows nothing about. She's a grade A character who will make you want to be a better person yourself.
I read As Fate Would Have It in one setting, and it was the most fun I have had, while reading a book, in a very long time. With humor galore throughout, and passionate sexual tension thrown in too, I guarantee that As Fate Would Have It, will become a favorite for many. I know for sure, that it's now one of mine! So if you need a fast paced romance with an abundance of humor, then be sure to pick As Fate Would Have It up! You can't get much better than this!
